WASHINGTON ? A hidden network of U.S. companies headed by a prominent defense contractor played a key role in secret post-9/11 flights that transported terror suspects to overseas prisons.

Documents filed in a New York court case show that the firms aiding in the "extraordinary rendition" flights ranged from a major government contractor, DynCorp, to flight companies and even caterers that stocked the planes with fruit platters and bottles of wine.

The documents detailing the program's logistics stem from a four-year legal battle between a New York air charter company that supplied corporate jets and crews to the government and a private aviation broker that lined up the flights.

Operations at the CIA-run prisons in foreign countries were halted in 2009.

Yes, this nuisance is draining your time and energy. He hovers and smothers, pulling you away from more pressing jobs. He steals your focus and trips up your rhythm, and you can?t get back on track afterward. You?re not the type to complain, but you?re tired of being dragged into this. Want to take back your time? Consider the following strategies.

1. Have him come with solutions. You know the drill. He bounces toward you like a ball of nerves. Chances are, he?s hoping you?ll do the work for him. Don?t make it easy for him. Instead, train him how to make it easy for you to help. Start by requiring him to come prepared when you meet. In particular, require him to gather facts and produce a solution and a plan for implementing it, along with potential obstacles and trade-offs involved. You can be his friend outside the office. Inside, the biggest favor you can do is keeping him focused and productive.

4. Help him on your schedule. He expects you instantly to drop what you?re doing, knocking you further off schedule. Seems reasonable, right? Before you automatically say yes to him, ask yourself about value and priority. In particular, do his problems greatly affect clients and internal staff? Will they drive dollars or stave off a lawsuit? If not, ask him for a timeline for task completion and set an appointment at a time convenient to you. Don?t feel obliged: Direct him elsewhere for answers. If anything, allude to a quid pro quo to set an expectation that your time comes with a price. Regardless, you can always hope he says thanks by getting it right and not coming back.

5. Practice tough love. He appeals for help but only sporadically heeds your advice. He pouts when you can?t deliver a quick and easy solution. And he returns with the same questions, having already lost those directions you shared last week. Somehow, you?re still falling for his doe-eyed, "This will only take a minute" shtick. You?ve become a doormat. It?s time to send a message.

That starts by making him feel a little uncomfortable ? unwelcome, even. Set a time limit for your meetings. Crack down by having him take notes, recite key points back to you, and even write up a plan for review when you?re finished. Expose every angle he hasn?t thought through and question whether he?s truly serious. That?ll drive home that he must get things right the first time. Be firm and don?t let him get a word in edgewise. If your words and manner don?t convey the message, reinforce it with body language. Pull back, turn away your torso, and reduce eye contact to suggest you need to leave or get the conversation back on your terms.

6. Diagnose the real problem. There?s the question ? and there?s the real need. Fact is, your co-worker?s faults run deeper than a lousy memory or obliviousness. Your guy feels vulnerable. He fears making mistakes, moving forward, taking responsibility, and looking weak. He is frozen in place, second-guessing everything he does, wondering if he is following the right track. He may be asking questions, but he is really pleading for reassurance.

In too many companies, there is little time to train, let alone coach. Workloads are crushing. Most times, we?re expected just to pick it up. Is it any wonder that sometimes people come around for reinforcement? Take a look at your operation. Before you wean your pest off so much dependence, ask yourself: Are his problems rooted in sloppiness and entitlement?or opaque expectations, convoluted practices, and MIA management?

7. Look at yourself. You have a love-hate relationship with your co-worker. Sure, he annoys you. But he also feeds your ego and leaves you feeling important. You know he?s passing the buck, but you like playing the rescuer, bathing in his attention and gratitude. In reality, you?re fostering dependence and learned helplessness. He believes you?ll swoop in and save him?and you?re just teaching him to come back. Sure, we?ve all been this person at one point. It is normal to sympathize.

Question is, can you put aside your ego and empathy to do what?s best for your co-worker? Ultimately, that means stepping away and letting him stand or fall on his own strength.

If Google+ is an 'identity service,' what's Facebook

Google Chairman Eric Schmidt kicked up more dust in the Google+ "Nym Wars," saying that the nascent social network is?primarily an "identity service" to help build other Google products.

"Fundamentally,?[Google+] depends on people using their real names if they're going to build future products that leverage that information," NPR's Andy Carvin wrote in a post on ? of course ? Google+. He was paraphrasing Schmidt's comments at a Q&A Carvin conducted at the Edinburgh International TV Festival recently. Schmidt didn't say what these future products might be, but given Google+'s stridently?enforced "real name" policy, targeted advertising is a good bet.

Shortly after Google+ launched, and the early adopters rushed in, Google conducted a culling of the herd, axing the profiles of anyone who appeared to be using a pseudonym. Thus the "Nym Wars" (as in "pseudonym") began, with tech pundits, privacy activists and everyday Internet users debating the merits (or lack thereof) of being anonymous on the Internet. The world is far from shutting its collective cake hole on this topic, despite the low probability that Google will give in, but there's still one word that's mysteriously missing from the conversation: Facebook.

Sure, last week Facebook revamped its privacy settings, making it easier for users to?limit who gets to see what, in a way that greatly resembles the privacy controls of?Google+. Long before Google+, however, Facebook required users to use their "real" name,?unceremoniously dumping those with even a whiff of a pseudonym. For example, the actually-named Kate Middletons booted from Facebook shortly before the royal wedding.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation made the case for pseudonyms, including a few pre-Internet examples, in its post The Case for Pseudonyms, which reads in part:

There are myriad reasons why individuals may wish to use a name other than the one they were born with. They may be concerned about threats to their lives or livelihoods, or they may risk political or economic retribution. They may wish to prevent discrimination or they may use a name that?s easier to pronounce or spell in a given culture.

"Regarding people who are concerned about their safety, [Schmidt] said G+ is completely optional," Carvin wrote of Schmidts' comments. "No one is forcing you to use it. It's obvious for people at risk if they use their real names, they shouldn't use G+. Regarding countries like Iran and Syria, people there have no expectation of privacy anyway due to their government's own policies, which implies (to me, at least) that Schmidt thinks there's no point of even trying to have a service that allows pseudonyms."

Schmidt has a history of pooh-poohing privacy, famously telling CNBC's Mario Bartiromo in 2009,? "If you have something that you don't want anyone to know, maybe you shouldn't be doing it in the first place."

Soon after that comment, Google?blackballed CNET because it published personal information about Schmidt's private life?found via Google. Since then, it seems Schmidt hasn't much changed. According to Carvin, Schmidt also said "the Internet would be better if we knew you were a real person rather than a dog or a fake person. Some people are just evil and we should be able to ID them and rank them downward."

This "we?mostly want your real name so everyone will be polite on the?Internet and not because we want to monetize your precious, precious identity," is Facebook's (paraphrased) spin as well. ?

"I think anonymity on the Internet has to go away," Randi Zuckerberg said at a Marie Claire social media panel discussion in July. Cyberbullying is the bastard child of?anonymity, at least according to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's sister, who until recently also served as the social network's?marketing director. "People behave a lot better when they have their real names down. I think people hide behind anonymity and they feel like they can say whatever they want behind closed doors," she said.

Your own anecdotal experience reading sometimes-vile?words in the Facbook?comment sections?on sites such as msnbc.com?should tell you this spin is a simplification of a complex problem. If not, how about some science?

Internet pundit dahah boyd, who spells her name all lower case and is?a fellow at the Harvard Berkman Center for Internet and Society?and researcher at Microsoft Research New England makes some interesting points in her piece, Real Names" policies are an abuse of power:

"Over and over again, people keep pointing to Facebook as an example where 'realnames' policies work.,"?writes.?"This makes me laugh hysterically. One of the things that became patently clear to me in my fieldwork is that countless teens who signed up to Facebook late into the game chose to use pseudonyms or nicknames. What?s even more noticeable in my data is that an extremely high percentage of people of color used pseudonyms as compared to the white teens that I interviewed. Of course, this would make sense?

The people who most heavily rely on pseudonyms in online spaces are those who are most marginalized by systems of power. ?Real names? policies aren?t empowering; they?re an authoritarian assertion of power over vulnerable people. These ideas and issues aren?t new (and I?ve even talked about this before), but what is new is that marginalized people are banding together and speaking out loudly. And thank goodness.

There is one stand-out difference between the "real name" claims of Google+ and Facebook. Before devolving into "only dirty people use pseudonyms" rhetoric, Schmidt gets a +1 for saying straight up that social media's chief concern is monetizing your information, not so much about you.

The law deems price increases excessive if they are more than 10 percent higher than the price at which a good or service was sold in the usual course of business prior to the State of Emergency; or, if additional costs are imposed by suppliers or certain logistical concerns during the State of Emergency, the increase is more than 10 percent of the amount of markup from cost, compared with the markup ordinarily applied.

Violations are punishable by civil penalties of up to $10,000 for the first offense and $20,000 for the second and subsequent offenses. Each individual sale of merchandise is considered a separate and distinct event.

MANCHESTER, England - Alex Ferguson says the Football Association should show more respect to Manchester United because the club provides the England national team with so many players.

As many as eight United players could be picked for next month's European Championship qualifiers against Bulgaria and Wales. Ferguson says that should inspire gratitude in the ruling body.

Ferguson cursed as he lambasted the FA for the way it has treated his team and said the FA should "realize how important we are to England."

The new Detroit built SUV will be based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee platform.? It will also?be sold worldwide. Maserati says that it?will be?ready to unveil a concept of the luxury SUV at the Frankfurt motor show in September. It?would be Maserati?s first American built vehicle.

Demand for luxury SUVs has nearly doubled since 2000 as high-end carmakers target the lucrative niche. BMW AG introduced the X1 in 2009, expanding its lineup to four SUVs. Audi introduced the Q3 this year, and Tata Motors Ltd. unveiled the Range Rover Evoque. VW?s Bentley is also considering an SUV.

A number?of industry critics have questioned whether the Chrysler plant will be able to turn a Jeep Cherokee into a vehicle that lives up to Maserati?s premium culture. ?The important point is that whatever Maserati we launch will be a product that respects the entire heritage, image, characteristics, and customer expectations of this brand,? Harald Wester, Maserati?s CEO, said. ?What ends up in the dealer shops should be 100 percent Maserati.?

She is really really white, so white she's known for it, her hair is dyed like hayley williams when she had dark red hair and its long and curly/wavy. She's petite, breast size 36a and weighs 110 lbs and she's 5'3. She also has a nose stud but wears glasses. She isn't a flirt and doesn't really dress provocatively, as in no half of boobs hanging out and nothing shorter than her fingertips with her arms by her side. Though she wouldn't mind skinny dipping.
