37% of businesses at risk | PR Fire

1000?s of businesses risk customers data Businesses spend ?1000?s every year on securing customers data yet many businesses don?t appreciate the risks of running old operating systems.

Windows XP will be retired on April 8, 2014. This mean 37% of all computers will not have security holes closed and hardware manufacturers will stop supporting you. Carl Enser, Technical Manager of migration specialists NKC Group said ?Many companies don?t understand the risks that this will put your company under, unsupported environments are vulnerable to viruses and malware. This can result in an officially recognised security failure by auditing bodies, leading to suspension of certifications, and public notification of the organization?s inability to maintain its systems and customer information.?

Businesses should already be planning your migration away from XP as migrations can typically take 12 ? 18 months.
